Wait, I still have a blog?

I have been M.I.A because we don't
have wifi just yet.

Serious bummer.

Let's play catch up.

We moved back. After 20 hours of driving.
Yes, TWENTY!

We have a cute little apartment that we just adore.
And a huge ass couch. Bonus.

We've been to Chickfila almost
every other day.
No lie.
Believe that we will be dressing
 up on JULY 12.
#freefood

My grandparents came to town a
week after we got here.
So we entertained them.
With more family. Love it.
Missed every single one of them.

I got to see Lindsey whom I have missed soooo much.
She brought MKA movies and we talked nail polish, hair and bullshit.
I'VE MISSED HANGING OUT WITH WOMEN.
I can't even tell you.
Not that Dev is bad or anything,
there's just something about talking to another woman.

AND
it's been raining/overcasty almost every. single. day.
(Let's all pray it doesn't rain on
Bella's pool party)
BUT
We're in Georgia so even though it's overcast,
it's still hot AF and we can enjoy the pool.

Oh and Bella's THIRD birthday is next week
so we're prepping for that hot mess express.
YAY.

I think we're all caught up.
Oh and my sister is legit MIA soo...
there's that.

Dear Ol' Dad.

I know two men (Dev and Daddy) who have proven to be incredible dads, not just fathers.

Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad.
It doesn't matter if your name is on the paper.
It doesn't matter if you pay for things.

That's not what a child remembers.

They remember you dressing up in a flower headband and playing "cafe".

They remember you reading Dr. Seuss books at bedtime.

They remember you going to their games and plays.

They remember being chased around the grocery store
and mom pretending not to know us.

They remember sharing Hershey bars, staying up late and watching cartoons.

They remember you listening and believing in their impossible ideas
...like owning an orphanage and creating a subdivision.

Yes, I was weird.

Anyone can send a check.
Being a dad means loving unconditionally, providing, teaching and being around.

My dad has done so much for our family.

I remember when I was nine,

he was attending college during the day,

cleaning floors at night

and
doing a paper route in the early morning.

Every day.

For years.

I literally don't know when he had the time to sleep or study but he clearly found time.

He graduated with four kids and a 4.0 GPA.

Pops deserves props.
 [applaud now]

And Devon, I couldn't imagine a better daddy for Bella.

He stepped up when others would have stepped away.
He reminds me a lot of my dad with us when he is with Bella.
He is silly and so funny and is wrapped around her little, chubby finger.
He can be disciplinary but is somehow still fun to be around.
He is hard working and provides for us to ensure we are safe and happy.

I love these two men. I really do.

There's something about having a dad in your life that makes a difference
and I'm so happy to have these dads around.

Happy Father's Day

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend we opened up the pool and went for a swim.
btdubbs: those little swimmer aids are so helpful for an independent toddler.

And made our way out to see Grandma Rose and Grandpa George.
Their yard is magical...is it odd that I say that?
Ugh, I don't care. I love it.

I will sincerely miss them.
They are the sweetest, most genuine people I have met.

 P.S four days.
 But who's counting?
 ME!
