The Awk Elephant in the Blog

It's crossed my mind...

I started this blog when we moved to New York
so that my family and friends could keep up with us..

But now that we've moved back to Georgia,
my blog name and description don't make sense.

What am I supposed to do?

I can't change my name.
It took me forever trying to come up with one.

Only to be disappointed because
someone else had the same idea!
But I wasn't changing it so I added 2012.
 Bahaha.

Maybe I'll just say shit happens
and things don't always go as planned.
And that's why we're here.
From peaches to apples back to peaches.

Maybe I'll do a blog makeover and change it all.

Eh, maybe not because that shit takes patience.
Which I seem to be lacking lately.

And on a side/unrelated/funny note:

My public library account has been blocked due to the late fees I have.
 pahahaha.
Only I would be in debt over something that was initially free.

Opportunists

This weekend was full of really delicious, cheap/free food
aka every girl's dream.

Thursday was $.99 burrito day at Moe's. Any burrito.
We all got Homewreckers. Hey, what would you do?
P.s I sincerly regret not having pictures to document this incredible moment.

On Friday, Chickfila had their annual Cow Appreciation Day.
You know. Dress like a cow get a free meal.
And did we do that.

We went to EIGHT Chickfila's, two in the morning for breakfast
and six in the afternoon to tackle lunch and dinner.
We got everything from wraps to parfaits.

Call us greedy (you might be right)
but the food came in handy.
Like when my family randomly stopped by for lunch.
Or when Devon had a hangover.
And do you want to know something unsettling?
We would get more Chickfila in a heartbeat.

Then Saturday was Krispy Kreme Day.
Buy a dozen and get a dozen for $.76!

While we were in and out of six Chickfilas in two hours,
we were in one Krispy Kreme for thirty minutes.
They were reeeeally unorganized.

And today was actually really nice so
we took advantage and went swimming.

Literally the best week of summer so far.

Why is a 3 year old calling me Mom?

Oh, that's right, I have a three year old.
It seems like yesterday but three years ago today we
were in the hospital watching an all day marathon of The Hills.

I was starving (they refused to feed me. For 12 hours I might add),
drugged up and paralyzed from the waist down.

Meanwhile, Devon was sleeping, eating and entertaining everyone coming in and out.
He had it so easy.

I remember singing TLC to numb the pain, hitting on the nurse and quoting Step Brothers...
only to be scoffed by the doc to focus and push.

I pushed for ten minutes and there she was.

She came out barely crying.
FACT: Devon and I cried more than she did.

She was so chill. She just stared at everyone.

She was the smallest baby I've ever seen.
Five pounds. Twelve ounces. Seventeen inches long.

She had dark, straight hair, very fair skin with the chubbiest cheeks.
I honestly can't fathom that it's been three years since holding my Bella for the first time.

Now, she's running around demanding shit like she's the boss (she kind of is),
making friends every time we go to the store,
and trying to ride bikes. (Notice I said trying.)

She's literally the dopest person I've ever known and she's my very best friend.

She makes me laugh pretty much every time she opens her mouth
but especially when she sings J. COLE.

These past three years have been the most fun, crazy,
and life teaching I've ever experienced
 and I wouldn't change anything.

Except for maybe time.
Because next thing I know she'll graduate,
I'll hit Asian menopause and then die.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ISABELLA MARLEE

A Bubble Guppies Party

On Sunday we celebrated Bella's third birthday!
Her party was Bubble Guppies, a show about mermaids.
Which is why I planned for the pool. Mermaids. Water. Pool. Get it?
See my way of thinking? It gets worse. Just wait until you see pictures.

Anyway, like I said we were supposed to have it at the pool
but if any of you are in Atlanta,
you'd know that Mother Nature is being a real bitch.

Except today. Today was really nice. Figures.
See? Bitch.

We ended up having it at my parents' house.
BTW thanks Mom and Dad!

I wish I would have gotten more pictures
but I made everything so I was a busy little mofo.

Plus, I wanted it to be just right. I over planned.
I stressed for no reason. I was annoying.
I can admit that. #FirstBornProbs

So we're missing pictures of games, the table set up, the family
and... of people in general.

Ha oops. Forgive me?

Here's what I did manage to get...

oh and P.s. it's totally okay to laugh at my water bottles.
Yes, I made them and yes, they were a disappointment.
I'M READY FOR NEXT TIME THOUGH.

Yes, that is a half eaten cucumber. I hadn't realized until now. #oops

Bella had so much fun and I loved seeing people who love her celebrate her birthday.

Thanks to everyone who came and helped.

What's that saying?
It's not about what you do but who you do it with?
Is that even a real quote?
Who cares. It's true.
